ME <<The answer is inside you. Don't look outward to me.>>
YOU >>My question was TO you. I asked you how YOU would react if you were a Tutsi, and a bunch of machete-wielding Hutus started heading for you and your family. I think I know how I would react.
I'd get the hell out, if that was possible, or at least hide my family members somewhere, if that was possible. Let me remind you that half a million people were hacked to death in the space of a mere two weeks!!!
Where can YOU find the bright/light side in such a situation? Would YOU go out to meet the mob with "love" in your heart? Do YOU think it would help?
I clearly do not. But the question is -- do YOU?
What good is your "philosophy," if it can't guide you in specific, concrete situations?

People are always looking for the holy grail: a point by point plan to control, structure and process everything in their lives.
What's so appealing about Holy Grails is that IF people follow their rules, procedures and strictures they also want the comfort of being "saved" or "absolved" in some way/shape/form.
But what they're really trying uncover is the "riskless, painless" answer to their current pain and problems.
If left to it's own mechanism our internal "voice" will continue asking negative questions - ie. "why is this world such a rotton, terrible place to live" - which only traps us in an endlessly looped downward spiral of negativity for, bottom line.....
....IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO GET AN ANSWER TO AN NEGATIVE QUESTION UNLESS YOU MAKE THE ANSWER A COLLECTION OF THINGS "OUTSIDE" OF YOURSELF WHICH ARE THE SOURCE/REAON FOR "YOUR" PROBLEMS AND THOSE OF THIS WORLD."
So we end up pointing fingers at thing outside of ourselves, jumping up and down, casting blame and judgment which support the reasons why we are so depressed, negative and the world so aweful.
This is a KISS example of a personal Black Hole.
"There's gotta be an answer, God-dammit!!! and I'm gonna get angrier and angrier at being placed in this friggin world if I don't find it!!!!"
Get the idea?
What I'm saying is "fugget it." It simply doesn't exist.
For invariable these Holy Grails are simply attempts to aggregate/consolidate the time and trust of others for some larger agenda which is usually hidden.
And you and many others are going to question, doubt and grill people like me for "answers" and "proof" - using silly Tutsi horror questions which try to hook and corner - until you are blue in the face.
For the answers are NOT "out there." There is nobody, nowhere, anywhere, anytime that's going to save me, you or anyone, except yourself.
And the only way to step into this "different" perspective of looking at the world in a more loving, caring, compassionate, exciting, fun way is to find that inner voice by "letting go" of the negative/controlling/doubting voice that gets us pinned to the shoreline while pointing fingers and casting blame at others and life in general.
For there's a message of light, energy and love which we each have to share with others in a very special, unique way. You have a message that only "you" can share with the world. And this has to get out and be shared or you will forever be frustrated, etc.
I'm not saying or implying you "are" frustrated, nor am I saying I have the Holy Grail. For these answers are within us all. And the only way to find them is to risk reaching out to others with a spirit of help/service and compassion.
Think of it like returning to the feelings you had about life and the world around you when you were a fresh, fun-filled, risking, daring, "more aware" innocent child.
Life is to be filled with joy, fun, light, excitement, laughter, humor, song and music.
I don't buy the image of scarcity that we live in a desert and there are these oasis that are far and few between that are the only source of water, food and love.
I chose to look at the world like the fantastically beautiful, wonderful, incredible, great natural paradice of light, color, risk and love. Every step, every moment is filled with greatness, wonder, excitement and blessings.
If you chose to perceive life from the vantage point of the many blessings you have you will be filled with gratitude that will allow you not only to forgive yourself for chosing to "see" it differently, but - and more importantly - to forgive others - even the Tutsi killers - for doing the same.
Peace.
