Hi Bruce. Read today that SV owns 80% of Janus Capital, Tom Bailey owns 12% and insiders own the other 8%. SV capitalization is 9 Billion, so an LBO (leveraged buy-out_ would only need 4-5 Billion to get effective control of SV. Then they could spin out the other garbage and rename it Janus Funds. just some mind games.
SV is suffering from negative returns on Janus funds and the hoopla about Jim Craig's departure and concern that it could start an exodus of qualified people.
Actually I think the opposite is true, that we will see some kind of power grab for SV or Janus soon. jmho. larry
