You are probably right with many individual investors, they probably expect a stock double every year. But Cisco is 55% institution owned, I would guess that those folks would accept 25% to 35% stock appreciation. As stated in the other note, this implies a gradually lowering PE as earnings continue to grow well beyond that percentage.

I think the gradual process of lower Cisco's PE has already started, the stock hasn't performed very well lately. To me, it's still a good investment, even at 25% appreciation it should outperform the indexes.
