QUALCOMM Enters into CDMA Subscriber License Agreement with Deltacom

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 10, 2000--QUALCOMM Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM - news), pioneer and world leader of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) digital wireless technology, today announced that they have entered into a worldwide CDMA subscriber unit license agreement with Deltacom Co., LTD (Deltacom). Under the terms of the agreement, Deltacom was granted a multi-million dollar, royalty-bearing license under QUALCOMM's CDMA technology and patents to develop, manufacture and sell subscriber products for CDMA and High Data Rate (HDR), or 1x EV, wireless applications.

``This license agreement will allow Deltacom to develop innovative mobile products supporting the growing worldwide CDMA market,'' said Steve Altman, president of QUALCOMM Technology Alliances. ``We are pleased to include Deltacom on our licensee list to help expand their wireless product offerings to include CDMA.''

Headquartered in Korea, Deltacom Co., LTD was established in May 1997. Deltacom manufactures and exports telecommunications equipment to the United States, Europe and Asia. Deltacom is developing CDMA phones and plans to sell and export products in late 2000.
