High Speed Access Gets $75 Million From Vulcan, Charter Communications

DENVER -(Dow Jones)- Vulcan Ventures Inc. and Charter Communications Inc. (CHTR) reached an agreement in principle for a preferred equity investment of $75 million in High Speed Access Corp. (HSAC).

In a press release Wednesday, High Speed said Vulcan Ventures, the investment organization of Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) cofounder Paul G. Allen, and Charter will invest about equal amounts.

Charter Communications is a cable company, while High Speed Access provides Internet access via high-speed cable modems.

Separately, High Speed reported a second quarter loss of $28.5 million, or 52 cents a share, on revenue of $2.76 million.

Baton: On the LPTH report,those 135 customers are mostly "qualifying" as AVNX did..larger orders will follow..This takes time!
