I know that on SI there are certain individuals who 'stake out' a particular thread and call it their own, often chasing way anyone who doesn't support their perspective.

I don't mean to dominate this thread with post after post. If I should back off just tell me...

Previously I asked if anyone had info about any of the lawsuits concerning SFA. Andy B. on the GMST thread pointed me in the right direction:

Seems our SFA got off very cheap! I have read both that the GMST suits are still outstanding and that they have been settled. I don't know which is true.

On July 25, 1996, StarSight Telecast announced that an AAA panel in San Francisco awarded StarSight Telecast
$15 million plus attorney’s fees and arbitration costs and injunctive relief against Scientific-Atlanta.

The injunction was granted following a month-long arbitration preceding in which the activities of Scientific-Atlanta were carefully examined. The panel expressly found that Scientific-Atlanta has used “for the development of competing product, information protected under the terms of the Agreement (technical information, user interface, inventions claimed in specified patents and confidential information.)”
