cree has been ramping LED capacity all along....adding growers, improving epi and yields. they did an addition about 8 months ago. also the improvement in the new LEDs results in a much smaller product which increases yield significantly. the 91 million in orders announced in the past few days is for the led business.

some of us believe the additional capacity in the 250,000 new SF is for rf/microwave and laser products.
completely new product lines....and some of us expect them to be even more profitable than the LED business....cree already has a backorder of rf devices to, as he said...."build on"

ceo also predicted cree lighting will kick in the second 1/2 and provide another 10% upside....he also hinted at more LED upside later in the year....WTI and IBM i presume.
