Other than that, I'm not familiar with the economics oriented definition of that word. And neither is Mr. Webster's good book.

However, I do have hedonistic tendencies at times... :0)

Btw, did you pay a lot for that word?

I won't normally pay over .50 a piece for mine.

Thanks for the article. Of course, you don't need to introduce hedonics to get evidence of questionable practices at national statistical agencies. The horror stories of ad hoc solutions go back forever.

Nevertheless, it is an interesting take on a vexing question: how do you account for "value" in the face of inexorable technological change. Thanks for sharing the insight.
