RD - My guess is that the investment professionals and industry generally go to the office in the morning and get together and make strategic decisions about which indiustry ot get into and which to get out of and how much cash to hold etc.

I guess that the professionals/houses/ funds compete with eachother and get to know what the others are doing. Not in any secretive way, just sort of over lunch and competitvely...you know sort of " well we see that semis have topped and we reduced today or we're going to tomorrow" that sort of thing..

They have to make money and that means shorting as well and in August with few buyers around shorting pays off.

Its a bit easier for them because (a) mostly its not their money they're investing and (b) the detachment and the ability to have plenty of colleagues around to bounce ideas off and encourage you and vice-versa can be of great help as opposed to individuals like many here on SI who probably for the most part hang on to stocks too long because there is no-one kind of wastching them and saying "OK now thats enough ...out you get you've made enough" or " OK we've got a loss but get out right now in case it gets worse".

Anyway the only worry I seee with WCII is the burn rate. Does anyone know what the burn rate was for last qtr? Looking at the blance sheet I think I saw a reduction in cash of about $400m.

I'd like a little reassurance from the thread. WCII has a bit of a debt load now and the burn rate will be looked at by analysts in terms of when EBITDA break even can be expected.

SW you out there?

Best regards,

L
