Well said John,
Earnings are growing, interest rates are declining, little or no inflation, new technology spurring productivity, and the
market PE down 23% in the last 12 months. Sure sounds like a bubble to me <g>

john, if large segments of this market aren't a bubble then no market has ever been a bubble.

greed blinds folks to bubble existence. that is one major reason why they can exist since, by definition, they are irrational whil;e most folks are rational w/o greed's influence.

however, many folks see the bubble for what it is, freely admit it and play anyway.

other folks, like warren buffet, see the bubble for what it is and make statements about this being an unprecedented time for company owners to monetize shareholder ignorance - none of whom, btw, see themselves as ignorant.

Market Highs Market Capitalization As % of GDP :

1929 87 %
1968 76.4 %
1973 85 %
1987 66 %
Now 171 %

john, don't let reality get in the way of your perception ;-)

Contrary to your post, Bambs was right about the bubble. However, it existed for the most part in the pure internet sector. The mistake he and others make is in trying to apply that theory to the entire market, regardless of future prospects. The internets went up with no earnings in view for years. That bubble has popped, and a lot of hot shot mm's got killed. It will take some time for those psychological wounds to heal. The networking sector is another story altogether. There are plenty of earnings and revenue.knc
