Paul, >I still remember VIVIDLY - Tom Kurlak's prediction in early-mid 1998 that AMD and Intel and Cyrix and IDT were going to produce a GLUT of processors because they were migrating to a smaller - 0.25 micron process at the time.

The fool never even considered that these companies were all adding large caches to eat up the real estate savings.

I also remember your making the point here about the caches using up the real estate. Great observation, then, and now.

Tony

Paul Engel. Re: "I still remember VIVIDLY" So do I, and I remember your response to his call too. You turned out to be right, and we all know what happened to Tom...

I do miss Tom. He did help us pick up Intel cheaply. But there doesn't seem to be any lack of people (analysts?) lined up to repeat his arrogant calls.
