AnalCysts don't cause chip makers to under invest. They just are blind when it comes to seeing the evidence of it as both groups fight the last war.

The fab managers have to convince a board to invest a couple billion $ in a fab. Usually, it's the same board that they presented a strong business case to last cycle. That board is reluctant to be burned twice on very similar decisions with very similar cost benefit stories. Thus the underinvestment.

The AnalCyst community got caught predicting that trees would grow to the sky last cycle. We aren't going to fool those rectal growths this time. They're chopping down the seedlings before the first buds have sprouted.
