(plus the really basic, useful methods running in the background) This can then be made into one must-be function to get approval of a basestation and terminal to ensure compatibility and coexistence. That is, patents are double edged swords in the process of building mutually approved, global standards. (ref the constitution of ITU) I guess Vodofone's technical director would call it a "technology driven" standard, while someone might hype it as a "market driven" standard?? Ilmarinen.
