Larry--

I guess the only question that remains to be answered is:

Are we still in the down trend from March?

or:

Are we in an up trend from May?

Larry, what do you base your statement on that the SOX is still in its short-term uptrend? I think you are mainly relying on statistical methods for your analysis. Judging from your charts you seem to make extensive use of standard error bands. Are you using two standard errors as the distance between the regression line and the outer bands? What is the confidence level implied by two standard errors? I'm familiar with confidence levels when using standard deviation but I'm somewhat unclear on standard error (isn't it inverse to r^2, the correlation coefficient?).
