MB - I am in total denial about taxes so I can't say for sure. I put them off as long as possible, and do incur some penalties; but I am physically unable to do better. The biggest hit is for not filing; I file. The penalties don't seem to be as high as you suggest, in my recollection. It will be interesting to see if selling is significant for this purpose. I can't be the only slacker.
