BofA on Dell's coming report
--2:40 pm - By Tomi Kilgore
Dell Computer (DELL: news, msgs) is adding 1 to 42 13/16. The PC giant is expected to unveil its fiscal second-quarter earnings report after the close of the regular trading session. A First Call survey of 25 analysts pegs earnings at 21 cents a share. Analyst Kurtis King at Banc of America said in a midday research note that a revenue miss is "already priced into the stock." He sees a good chance that the EPS estimate will be topped by a penny or more. "Management's guidance likely will be the swing factor for the stock," opined King. "We see almost no chance of downward EPS guidance. We think management could use tonight's call to go on the offensive about the benefits of positive mix shifts toward enterprise products."
