DIM LEAPs
I've only used them once, for TYC and it worked out pretty good. I actually keep most of my funds in a venerable old brokerage house which gives bad advice and charges high commissions. I try not to deal with them much, and for the most part I do a lot better if I just leave things alone. I tend to want to take my sidetrips into options when I'm excited about the market, which of course is when it's reaching some sort of top, and that's not usually the best time for those games.

I keep an online IRA account where I scalp nickles and sell covered calls and buy risky things on rumour. That provides me with enough excitement to keep me interested but prevents me from churning my main portfolio.

Actually the trading account is doing well this year, while I still have too much Dell in long term parking. I need to do something about that but I've been fighting inertia.
