About the CPQ bet, however, I, too, was serious. Either I end up sending you tickets or you, me. In regards to the question you asked in your earlier posting: >WHat is your target price for CPQ? Do you think this stock is coming back up or this is another false advance to above 30, only to go back to low 20's again? I am pretty sure I am currently approaching the share price of CPQ the same way recovered alcoholics approach being sober: one day at a time. I like to believe the analysts who say the worst is behind us and that from here onwards, CPQ will continue to climb. ML had what they call a "concervative" price objective of $34. on 1 August. They do not specify if this is intermediate or long term but I think this is low 12 months out. If we do drift back into the 20s, I do not think it will be for long and that it will be due to general market conditions at that time rather than CPQ itself. Getting through the 30s, however, I do think is going to be like pulling teeth out of a worm. Besides the initiatives CPQ has taken lately, one thing starting to help is that Michael Capellas is becoming more of a "known." Basically, he's growing into the job. Other than from some people on this thread, I do not hear criticisms of him--which is real, REAL good! I do expect CPQ to be trading around 50 within a year. Prior to this, probably by the end of 2000, I anticipate the BOD will announce a dividend increase to .03 quarterly. Before I log-off and go over to my neighbors, I am finding that people I know in the real world who have _not_ gone through the trials and tribulations of CPQ, going back to Canion days, have a very different attitude than many of us here (suffering from shell-shock, one time too many). My father and some of his golf friends bought CPQ for the first time this year when it was between 20-22, already recovered from the teens. Some people I met at a party the other night were very excited about CPQ; they purchased their first shares 25 and under (also after the drop). They have done well, so far, with CPQ and think it's a great company and stock. Best regards, Lynn
