Clappy, re El Vanada... Well, WR was my old Yahoo name when I was using my ex's computer. When I got my own, used Elvanada as my account, became the EVK on Alta Vista. Makes me schizoid, but who cares? El Vanada is actually a misspelling of the Spanish words El Venado, which means the path of the deer. It was the name of the tiny street I used to live on, all old summer cabins on probably one of the last dirt roads east of I 280 on the SF Peninsula. At one point, I became the El Vanada Kid, you know, hard riding, straight shooting, big talking, big drinking garbage. Never can tell when he pops out. Everybody was Da Kid. This one had a first name.

Now I know why I was talking to mice elf in the club house.

I haven't followed the Cal fire situation too closely. Just anecdotally, I have seen many worse years, but I know there is one near Sequoia. I think Wyoming is the one in big trouble.
