So it goes. The PMCS tread is dead too, and these are the two very best semi's in existence. Raymond, I know exactly how you feel. I was having a discussion in rec.arts.sf.written about the time reversibility in theoretical physics. My opponent was claiming that since the equations for Relativity and QM are reversible, the theories must be. I claimed that even reversible equations can have non-reversible results, and gave black holes and the collapse of the wave function as examples. Along comes well-known physicist John Baez. He complains that sci.physics if full of crackpots and high school students while we're having a really good discussion over here! :-) (BTW, he sided with my opponent.) Anyway, IMHO Cree is high-priced for a maker of semiconducting lighting replacements. True, they are valuable in hand-held applications and in cars. But the fact that there are alternatives will keep the price down. They will have to make money in the volume. Yes, the volume will be there, but SiC is tough stuff to work with, so they have their work cut out for themselves. I like the company, and will probably invest in the stock again. I'd need to see a solid bottom in the stock, and good news from the Co. But the real reason we're talking about Cree here instead of where it belongs is because that crowd on the thread badly needs a damper. There are folks over there claiming that Cree is a "gorilla" in the G&K sense. This is so absurd it's not funny! I'd love to have a good, intelligent discussion of Cree. But I got real tired of popping other people's fantasies. (One poor person thought Cree was going to replace the incandescent light bulb!)
