John 0f 1996:
Back then there weren't any tough bars to jump over. Dell just did its thing, 50%,100%, whatever they got was OK.
Now a group of 30 some nit-picking know-it-all
analysts are setting the bar, telling Dell what it must
do within 1 /77 or 1.3% on revenues to earn their applause.
How many times have analysts come within 2% of calling a
stock price three months from today?? Yet they expect Dell to predict rev. within 1%. Hes a businesman, not a mathematician. They get parts shortages, cancelled or delayed orders, higher costs- sometimes earthquakes.
Dell does provide guidance to the analysts, but not the exact figures.
2% more rev in those 90 days (2 days)and we would have all the marbles.
Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh Picky-picky.
