While market generally tanks this time of year imo the odds favor a volatile rise through the elections with a chance of S&P hitting new high. I think tanking will occur next year.

Unlike many poster on this thread, I generally play individual stocks instead of market. I agree with philosopy of holding dry powder and using it to buy stocks that have collapsed, especially in good companies which have demonstrated good fundamentals over time and which are beginning to see insider buying. I am beginning to see opportunities in a limited number of second tier techs using these criteria.

I think there are mixed factors re. market: high valuations (negative for market, possible to get around by individual stock picking); high productivity (this is a very long term secular trend which will continue imo - I think Greenspan is on the money here and that many bearish financial gurus really dont appreciate the nature of the current technology induced productivity revolution - I can elaborate on this if anyone wishes)
