sorry, i don't think that that is what it means. why would the 'special people' be protected by an increase in FDIC insurance from 100K to 200K per depositor?

there are other implications however...for one thing, an economic downturn would probably bankrupt the FDIC quickly if this proposal were accepted. i dimly remember that Greenspan and Summers made a few comments about this a while back...i don't remember though what was said, except that they were against it.
