unclewest: That's it. Hercules C-130 Short (B) and Long (E) models. Most of flights in support of the para training part of our missions was done out of Petawawa (NW of Ottawa) and Rivers, Manitoba (mid prairie Canada).

One of those crazy Bevearland army guys even got me to agree to jump (static line) from 1200 feet in the summer of 66. I agreed to THE NO-TRAINING JUMP while under the influence of some liquid medicine (while losing another war) in the mess bar late one friday night.

Though I lived--some say 'that landing' was the event that caused all the obvious problems of IQ, logic and equilibrium that I have today. At least--that is what bocabear says :-)

We talk about the damndest nonsense when the summer doldrums are upon us.

Maybe bocabear will regale us of the highlites of battles fought in WW I :-)
