Morning John:
<< all you guys need to hang around so I have someone to argue with!!!>>>
I'll be around the thread, but sold 2/3 of my Dell position at the open.
IMO:
Michael is building one of the great companies of
today. There is no precedent for where he is going, but he has tried to get the IBM executives on board to help make decisions, ( keep from making mistakes). This year is a huge growth year in manpower and facilities with less interim earnings than hoped for and not appealing to the mo-mo players of today. The payoff comes later. Could happen anytime, a big Nov or Feb surprise or a "deal" with IBM.
I believe Kemble will be proved right to buy and hold, but my age prevents me from looking ahead more than a few years. And then there is the dreaded October which could wipe me out (temporarily, on paper)if I stayed fully invested.
Dell executives think positive, have a right to do that,
must do that. Don't know what failure is. With $2 bil profits, $8 bil in investments, and growth over 2 x the industry.
The error is to interpret it as meaning immediate riches (this week, this mo. this year) for shareholders.
Meanwhile I am trying to be positioned to ride
out this crazy market.
Regards
Sig
