According to the conference call, the sky isn't falling. G*: (1) has cash to end of first quarter 2001, (2) SPs will provide additional financing, and (3) the covenants of the loan due around 3-31-01 (not sure of the date) are changeable. Ken

<All fine and dandy to have a monopoly and force what the market will bear. But right now we have financial obligations to bear in mind. The clock is running and the due date is bearing down on us. > What the market will bear is not what Globalstar is trying to charge. You are right and Ken is wrong in what the market will bear. Of course we should charge what the market will bear. We aren't within a bull's roar at the moment. Bernie predicted 1 million subscribers by the end of Y2K. The phones work, so that isn't the problem. Markets are open. So that's not the problem. Distributors are available [though uninformed like most sales people] so that's not the problem. What on earth could be the problem? Maybe we need some AirPoints? How about another Harley Davidson lucky subscriber draw? Win a trip to Fiji [where there is no service and won't be for a few years]? Hey, I've got an idea. Ask some people who enquire about Globalstar but don't buy why they didn't buy it. I think they'll mention $$$$$. Then again, maybe lack of roaming to Eketahuna will be the main issue. Mqurice
