Talk about going down rabbit holes, I just saw Ransom Love, CEO of Caldera, interviewed on CNBS. He is acquiring the operating systems "portion" of SCOC (price: some beads and a looking-glass; remaining assets after SCOC's divestiture: location, location, & location). He's going to "merge" Unixware and Linux. The resulting beast is going to offer users the best of all worlds: a super Unix operating environment that will scale all the way up from pacemakers to SkyNet, the self-educating supercomputer network that eradicated mankind in the "Terminator" series. The fact that it will be compatible with nothing, that it will be the software equivalent of a rabbit with no head and two butts, and that people will pay far less attention to it than they pay to jock itch did not seem to disturb Mr. Love, whose Ransom value is probably on the low side.

I think it was actually just a dry run for the "Seinfeld" replacement Mr. Love is developing. You know, a show about nothing<g>.
