Aus,

You're exactly right that the biggest issue for these nv wanabees is their scalability in density. The biggest FRAM product right now is 256kbits and a 1Mbit is supposed to be well on the way. Their advantages over Flash are speed and endurance. I'm not sure how costs compare -- probably pretty close. But I think FRAM will be VERY slow scaling up in density.

I'm a bit concerned about the MRAM's, especially the Prinz/Navy stacked-ring design that supposedly doesn't need transistors. Sounds like it could be made very dense -- theoretically. I don't know if it has impediments to scaling from extremely exacting processing requirements as in the other magnetoresistive designs.

My concern is because I'm an OUM investor (via ECD) and I would like OUM to have the entire market if/when it makes it there. It's still kind of early to speculate though, IMO.

A company like Sandisk has an extreme vulnerability in this respect, and it may have something to do with the stock price -- I really don't know.
