THE ANALYSTS CAN SEE....?
You are 100% correct. Analysts ordered to start those forest fires. No question about it. This has been confirmed to me by friends in the industry that they are under a great deal of both subtle and not so subtle pressure to follow the company line. Just look at the Bear Stearns analyst who put out an actual Sell on Nite at 10X earnings, near the lows for the year with 25% year to year growth i believe. It is well known that Bear dislikes Nite and its management. Thus the sell. In most cases firms are more subtle than that. They may have a large investor who wants to unload some shares of a company so they talk it up to retail so the seller can get the best price. Then the stock tanks.
