I think the Japanese rate hike is a major turn of events, that is unless they do not raise rates ever again. I am grinding through some thoughts on how one could position ones paper assets to take advantage of the event. Yes, the Yen should rise over time. The banks in Japan at some point in time will need to start lending money instead of just
sending it into US treasury debt. Not good for US, but could help some of the corporations in Japan start expanding. Then there are the countries that provide products to Japanese corporations like the Philippines.
