I'm FOR this change, in fact I posted Arthur Levitt's e-mail address on this thread months ago, urging folks to e-mail him in support of the new rules.

That said, there will be significant changes. Think of companies that have traditionally lead the analysts to a specific earnings estimate, Cisco, Coke, IBM come to mind. No more, if the rules are effective. Now these Yahoo's (analyst's) are going to be making stuff up, based on their "grass roots research". The net effect, IMHO, will be more upside and downside surprises, and and a lower comfort level for investors before earnings reports.

But I'm all for it.
