I agree with you. AMATs products are applicable across many sectors. Additionally, semiconductors are being used in a much broader range of everyday products. The more diversified the use of semis is, the less cyclical they will be. Semis in cars, refrigerators, microwaves, switches, routers, cell phones, computers...blah blah blah. Even if you go with the idea that the great growth in the internet has topped (it hasn't), that was just one segment of the market for semiconductors.
