What is overhanging on the market, will suppress the market until it is taken off. You are absolutely right. On the other hand, it may relieve the shorts if that particular market maker wants to liquidate his position. Any surplus will be oversold and tend to move the price up. Your post may have pointed out this available chunk of stock to that particular market maker(Herzog). Level2 offerings relative to the lot size in bid and ask quotes tells more of each active market maker's position.

In truth, Instinet does not have all the customers that can liquidate all the stocks posted. Please keep us informed on the outcome.

I also noticed INCA camping on the ask. I had hoped for a better day on Friday - but now I'll be watching close on Monday. I still take any day with decent volume and a positive finish as very positive but I am also cautious.
