Weren't you "grasping"(I was also) with ANCR 4 or 5 years ago after the fall from 35+ to 1. Even after the mgmt. change getting two execs. from WDC & SEG didn't seem to turn the boat around(at first).

I owned ANCR for a time but didn't ride it down. (I don't think I ever understood fibre channel.)

But I think your point is well taken. With good products, VARL can be turned around.

The management team that left should be tarred and feathered.

Pat

Hi J - but there is a big difference between ANCR and VARL. The former's collapse was due in part to toxic debt. Its recovery is b/c it got out of the toxic debt. Fundamentally, it is a real alternative to Brocade Comm [?] [I own QLGC, btw] As for VARL, I think there won't be a takeover play until the legal situation is settled. The plus is that the *new mgt* team is more inclined to engineer a sale of the co after the clean up the mess.

best, Bosco
