Nothing much planned will take a few days vacation around Labor Day.....then settle down to work for the winter on the stocks trying to come back.

When I come back I want to travel from May to October......that would be my dream.

love,
dealie

Hi Rosie,

You wrote:
I think I'm going through the summer time blues and don't quite know what to do about it. Any suggestions?

I'm sorry to hear that.
Of all the people on the Porch, I don't think I've ever noticed you as being blue or down or sad.
(Actually your tied with several people like Hammering Rick, Dealie, Volty, and a few others.)
You are always quick with a joke or a smile.
Even when we are beating up Clown Killers, you always remain friendly and happy.
That's a nice quality to have.

Hopefully these summertime blues blow away quickly like an August thunder storm.
(My dog hides under the bed until it goes away. I count the time in between the lightning and thunder...
If it's really loud, I hide under the bed and count with the dog.
I never tried it with the blues though.
However, I don't suggest you hide under the bed until your blues disappear... Try counting instead...)

I wish I had an answer for you.
However, as it's been said:
There Ain't no cure for the sumertime blues...

Well, I’m a-gonna raise a fuss
I’m gonna raise a holler
About workin’ all summer
Just to try an’ earn a dollar
(a reference to my stock picks, I think...) <ggg>
Everytime I call my baby
To try to get a date
My boss says, “No dice, son
You gotta work late”
Sometimes I wonder what I’m gonna do
Cause there ain’t no cure
For the summertime Blues

Well my mom ‘n’ papa told me
“Son, you gotta make some money:
“If you wanna use the car to go ridin’ next Sunday”
Well, I didn’t go to work
Told the boss I was sick
“Now you can’t use the car
Cause you didn’t work a lick”
Sometimes I wonder what I’m gonna do
‘Cause there ain’t no cure
For the summertime blues

I’m gonna take two weeks
Gonna have a vacation
I’m gonna take my problem
To the United Nation
Well, I called my congressman
And he said quote
“I’d like to help you son
But you’re too young to vote”
Sometimes I wonder what I’m gonna do
Cause there ain’t no cure
For the summertime blues

Well I’m a-gonna raise a fuss
I’m gonna raise a holler
About workin’ all summer
Just to try an’ earn a dollar
Sometimes I wonder what I’m gonna do
‘Cause there ain’t no cure
For the summertime blues

Yeah, sometimes I wonder
What I’m gonna do
Cause there ain’t no cure
For the summertime blues

Hi rose,

I was one of those folks gone on holiday & just now catching up on the porch. Since you seem to like good movies, maybe you would be pleasantly entertained by going to see a play. My wife & some good friends spent the weekend in Morgantown, WV. We went to see a mutual friend who now hails from Austin. He was the equity stage manager in the Creative Arts Center's Summer Stock program.

We saw West Side Story. It was an excellent performance. We got to go to their farewell party last night as today is the last day for them & they will begin to work their way home or their next gig tonight.

Needless to say, it was a fantastic weekend ;-)

Give it a try. You may be glad you did.
