Rambus Sues Hitachi Over Technology January 19, 2000
techweb.com

But with Hitachi having settled, sort of, this will undoubtedly be interpreted as a strong positive. (IMO)

Back on topic, I still don't see any chance that AMD will dive into the RDRAM cess pool. Anybody care to hazard a guess for when Rambus sues AMD for royalties? Are they currently in negotiations? My guess is that Rambus will go after the foreigners first, relying on the xenophobia of illiterate American juries.

Petz,

Do you think this will be viewed as a sign of strength or weakness for RMBS?

Since you mention RMBS, I guess you mean stock. I don't think it will have much effect short term. In medium term, the law suit will accelerate the timetable of the whole Rambus gamble. We will know the result if the company is going to make it based on the result of this lawsuit.
