half an eye blink of time. I would disagree in that evolution has to deal with 4 billion years of time. True, we only have a scattering of information about any particular time and place, but the theory must remain coherent for the whole span and range. It's as if the history of movie making has to be made from the trailers that survived. Sure we may miss the surprises and even the great performances, but there is a good chance that the movies could be named and much of their plots and tone described. TP
