Take a look at RADN (wireless infrastructure), and CEGE (cash value plus holdings in ABGX [12%] are considerably more than the share price). Both are top notch.
I am long both.
Best regards.

OK, let's take a look at the 5 year chart of AVX:

finance.yahoo.com

I'm actually somewhat familiar with this company (though I have never owned the stock). 1999 was an unusually good year, and the momentum crazies drove the stock up even further in 2000.

There is nothing wrong with the company, but if business is "only" good next year or - worse yet - flat, the stock will get hammered.

I still think it's going to be hard to make money in semis/components in the near term.

Beaten-down Semi Screen

>>I agree that easy money in semis was made in late 99 and early 00, but at the prices and multiples some are trading
at now and given the likely revenue and earnings growth well into next year, at least, many are selling at
incredible bargain multiples.

For example: VSH, KEM, AVX, SILI and to a lesser extent DIOD, AMK.

I am sure there are many more.<<

Here's a few more candidates for beaten-down semiconductors:

Some of these stocks are very compelling -- prices down 30% or more, strong earnings and low forward P/E ratio. AMD,
ATML, LSI, CY certainly deserve a second look at these valuations.
