Interesting, isn't it? ;^)

Scumbria-

This is a perfect example of the kind of Droid thinking that I can't understand no matter how much I try. Accepting your numbers, and assuming that both companies are selling all they can make, WHO HAS THE MARGINS? And who will have greater pricing power when volumes pick up? If you are already giving something away, it is hard to lower the price.

Yes, your numbers are "interesting" but maybe not in the way you think.

Clearly Intel can sell it's 1 gig chip at a premium while AMD is having to cut prices in order to get rid of it's 1 gig chips. This is n indication that AMDs margins are going into the dumper...therefore we reiterate our strong buy on AMD (while we dump it) and continue reiterate our sell rating on Intel (you sell while we buy).

The Intel price was for quantity 1000.

AMD's price cutting reflects their desperation. As in the past, AMD cannot compete on performance - so they compete on price.

Very typical of a second-rate operation.

Factor this into AMD's ASP calculations for the future.
