It is old news, but I'll repeat the same bit I did the last time it showed up. Always good to scroll down the page a little. The previous item from realworldtech.com , all of an hour earlier:

According to an informed source, despite what was
presented in the August 2000 Industry Update it
seems that Durons are selling very well in Asia. In
fact, the claim is that they are outselling TBirds by a
4-to-1 margin. This is in contrast to the sources here
in the U.S. (both resellers and manufacturers), that
said Durons were not in demand.

This same source also said that Dell reduced their
DRDRAM orders from Samsung by 60% in July.

This would help to explain the rapid decline in
prices, as suggested in the August Update. It seems
that Samsung has been making about 3.5 million
chips per month, but is now considering cutting that
back to 2 million per month by year end.

Note that the earlier rumor is not exactly consistent with an impending P4 launch, but who knows? By the "objective" reporting standards of this thread, the "P4 on track" rumor is indisputable truth, and the shrinking RDRAM demand rumor is pure FUD. Whatever.

Cheers, Dan.
