If there are references to DDR in the 70's, then either Hitachi didn't find them, or they are irrelevant in this situation for one reason or another.

As for prototypes about 8 years ago, that would be 1992, which is more than 2 years after the first Rambus patent applications were filed.

First prototypes 8 years ago would quite possibly STRENGTHEN, not diminish, the Rambus case.
