So what if most applications do not stream. Rmbs performs at well with both and is far superior to all other choices on the other. This makes it a good choice for both streaming and bursting and a great choice for one. When video on demand applications arrive RMBS will be the only logical choice. BUT WHO CARES. RMBS will collect royalties on DDR anyway. Why we we keep having to pound this simple thought through. WE DO NOT CARE whether DDR is bettor or not. BRING on that DDR MOBO please. May not ever happen!

The Rambus latency issue is highly controversial. Although I don't have a link (Techfuture would if this was the Yahoo board), there have been some very good articles totally debunking that RDRAM even has increased latency. In the end, however, the last sentence of your post says it all: "but the fact remains that won't really know until we get the actual systems". We should begin to see this within the next 60-90 days.
