that's almost how it is on my system... the difference being that i have to stop it via the cancellation option that appears as the download is in progress.

i blasted smartdownload off of my computer.

it was getting too smart. i might bring it back. it was too far out in front all the time, doing things i didn't ask it to do, and pop up windows all over the place.

i think i'd like something along the lines of...

halfwitdownload or maybe averageintelligencedownload

... just to catch a break for awhile from all this smartdownload stuff
