NEWS:

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Aug 14, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- IDT (Nasdaq:IDTI), a
leading communications IC provider, today launched its completely renovated Web
site.

In a market where time-to-information is critically important to designers,
www.idt.com makes use of best-of-class parametric search technology and one-stop
access to information, cutting search time to a minimum.

"We believe engineers will find our site second to none in quickly accessing the
pertinent technical information they need to support their system designs,"
explained Dan Brumm, IDT's director of e-business. "We're taking advantage of
many new insights and technologies to reshape idt.com to meet our customers'
needs and our business priorities of faster access to the right information and
the right solutions."

IDT's new parametric search feature provides users the capability to search for
the exact features and attributes of products that are necessary to their
systems' design. Using parametric searching bolstered by pull downs and check
boxes, a designer can navigate to a smaller, more appropriate set of product
choices without having to wade through all parts. In addition to the new
parametric search, users have several other search methods at their disposal,
and a simple tool that explains when and how to use each.

The new site also provides the design engineer with fast and easy navigation to
all related documents available in one viewing area. Other sites make users
navigate to special sections for data sheets or applications notes. With IDT's
new one-stop library of information, designers can access all information for a
specific product in one location.

Market-Driven Undertaking

Much of the new Web site's functionality is in direct response to IDT customer
needs. For example, in a recent electronics industry survey (1999 Internet Usage
Study, CMP Publications), design engineers identified parametric searching as a
key "must have" for industry business-to-business sites.

"IDT's intuitive and powerful parametric search capability delivers increased
value for our customers," Brumm said. "Other capabilities sought after by those
surveyed include better partial-name searching and more thorough
cross-referencing. We've addressed all of these customer needs, as well."

More to Come

IDT plans to continue enhancing the site with additional features and
capabilities that reflect the company's role in the evolving IDT e-business
environment.

"The ultimate goal, of course, is to provide superior service to our customers
through our Web site. We are focused on providing electronic capabilities to
shorten designers' selection time, and support their fast time-to-market
requirements," Brumm said. "These companies and their engineers are under
increasing pressure to leap-frog each other's performance and introduce new
products in ever-shortening cycles. We believe our products and IDT's Web site
will help them do that."
