NIXONfan...<g>
Was outside the Golden Gate the day of the 89 quake salmon fishing on a party boat.....4 friends and I.....Have never seen fish bite like that before or after....almost as soon as your line hit water...the salmon were on..It was a mad house...!!...........not big fish...but a wild experience...we had fished all morning without a bite....the fish went crazy around 3:30-4:00 PM........
Read somewhere later...fish often go into a feeding frenzy just before a quake....
Theory is they can feel the electric pulse of the deep rocks as they are starting to fracture....and want to stock up on food so as to " Be Prepared"......
we got in... hit the road North on 101...
we're listening to the pre game World Series bs on the radio when the quake hit........
usually the roads were Extremely crowded at that hour ..Interestingly...That year ...the series was between Oakland...and SF....most folks had gone home early to watch on TV........even though about 60 died in that shock....
the fact that the series was on saved hundreds...if not thousands of lives.....( a few double decker highways pancaked...crushing the poor souls below..)
May you live to see interesting times
