Kenneth - I get the same impression (i.e. NT's gaining market share not losing..). Has anybody heard of large 'wins' that Cisco has made?

yes you are correct, but like any gorilla, there will be the cheetas nipping at their heels, like Juniper to Cisco. What I suspect is that since we are still in early days with Optics, Nortel will be able to continue expanding its market share as the market grows (growing faster than overall market). However, when growth slows a few years from now, then the competition from the smaller firms will heat up. That's when it becomes tough to hold onto market share. This is what Cisco is experiencing right now in the enterprise market.

I'm talking a few years down the road, but then again I always think long term. Short term, Nortel will continue to be king. I will venture that they have at least 2 years of unmatched supremacy, before some of the others start becoming a bigger threat.
