What are those green catipilars called?

I was just out in the garden, and noticed soem rabbit droppings around one of my paprikas and also saw that a bunch of leaves were chewed and it was bent a little.

I grabbed it to straighten it out, and grabbed ahold of one of those green things. I about jumped out of my skin. LOL.

It was a good 5 inches long, and about as fat as a good sized thumb. I wanted to squish it(mostly because it made me jump like a little girly man<g>) but my daughter was there so we had to take it back to the woods and let it go.

Horn worm? YUK! I never saw one that big. Usually they are toast about grub size if I see them at all.
