OT Prohibition didn't work re: alcohol but most people who drink, drink moderately and desire to continue and there seem to be few if any health problems caused by casual drinking.
I know banning cigs would initially create some type of black market run by the criminal element but it is possible that most folks who smoke would intensify their desire to quit if tobacco was illegal and that would be a good thing. Smoking is both addictive and pleasurable to some extent but its not like drugs/alcohol which make you feel good. So maybe a few years out prohibition of a poison that kills when taken as directed by people that dont really want to commit suicide might actually have a chance of working. This is just a thought/brainstorm. I would be interested in OT pm responses.
