You compare doll business focussed on christmas to Microprocessor business that is no where near as seasonal. By your comments in the last few posts I think you have demonstrated extremely well that you have very little understanding of the CPU business. <<<< Well I can see that you decided to weasel out once you were asked for the specifics behind your accusations. I mentioned the doll business because you said there weren't any business that would prefer to put stock in inventory, and I gave you some examples of business which do. <<<<<Ordinarily I enjoy bantering about this kind of stuff but the combination of your lack of understanding combined with your arrogance/rudeness make it totally pointless for me to exchange such a dialog. Good luck. <<<<<<< First of all, I do not consider it bantering when you start accusing people of incompetance, when you have absolutely no proof of such imcompetance. Give me examples of such and I will believe you, but a general statement like that is worthless. You have yet to tell me which projects you would cancel so more effort can be put into chipsets. You have yet to show me AMD could have designed and produced the chipsets and motherboards any faster than Via did. By the way, AMD already has the 750 chipset for the Duron. I assume AMD asked Via to produce the chipsets because all of AMD'S manufacturing was allocated to producing chips; and it makes sense to produce the $500 chips instead of wasting valuable manufacturing resources on a $40 chipset. As far as arrogance is concerned, by accusing people of incompetance without sitting in one planning meeting, or knowing who AMD asked to build chipsets and why, may be the height of arrogance. Get off your high horse and come down to reality. Sure it would have been nicer if the kx=133 chipsets were ready 3 wks. earlier. But Via is now supplying 50% of the worldwide chipsets. Via's growth has been even more explosive than AMD'S. I doubt if anyone knew 6 months ago how badly Intel would do with their chipsets. To blame AMD and Via for not knowing how badly Intel's chipsets would do presumptious. As far as the sales of the Duron go, if the Duron is as good as Anand or Tom Pabst or Sharkey say, selling everything AMD can produce will be a snap. A two to three wk. delay in chipsets is minor in the whole scheme of things as long as the chipsets are good and AMD can sell everything. As far as blaming the low stock price on the chipset delay, thats fine. So what, once the extra revenue is recorded in the third and fourth quarters, we will garner even higher stock prices. Use this as a buying opportunity and sell when the price goes up.
