OT: Mephisto, stop complaining and use Windows 2000 or Solaris. The fact is that you are doing a lot more today with PCs than 10 years ago. Windows has been an improving product line. Looks like you are still dissatisfied. However, contrary to Justice dept, there are alternatives. Why don't you use Solaris ? Or Linux ? Or hasn't SUNW/Linux made things even as palatable as Windows for you ?

We compare MSFT software to the automobiles that American manufactures put on the market in the 60s and 70s. They were inferior and Americans quickly moved to Japanese cars and other cars that had a reputation for quality and reliability. The analogy to the market for US autos doesn't hold up in this case. To switch to a more reliable vehicle is simple and painless. You need not ensure that a new Japanese car is compatible with your old American model, nor with other cars on the road. With operating systems, on the other hand, costs of switching are high because of compatibility issues. Until PC users are willing to switch en mass to a platform other than Microsoft (Windows and Office), and there is a compelling reason to absorb those costs of switching, both in the personal and business markets, it's not going to happen any time soon. Just my two cents...
